Mobius Cowl Class
Sunday June 23rd, 1-3PM
A Mobius is a mystifying shape with only one side and one edge that seems like it could only exist in a geometry textbook. But it turns out, knitting is so magical, we can create these neat shapes with sticks and string! How cool!
Cowls with a mobius design have an attractive way of draping around the neck, with a twist to add visual interest. In this class, you will learn a special cast-on technique for seamless knitting of mobius cowls. Once you've mastered the technique, you can use it to knit headbands, hat brims, and cowls of all sizes.
During the class, we will discuss and illustrate the concept of a mobius, learn the cast-on technique (using Cat Bordhi's video as a resource), and knit a few rounds to see how the cowl emerges. After class, students can finish the cowl and bind off on their own.
